Thank you for posting! You are absolutely right that walkable connections between schools and amenities like the library are important, not just for traffic and pedestrian safety but also for ensuring kids have safe and enjoyable places to spend time until their parents get off work.
Like Michael said in the comments, the city of Noble is in the process of expanding sidewalk connections between schools and between the public library to Downtown. However, sidewalks are not the only ingredient to walkability, especially for kids. In your experiences, are there any locations that need safer street crossings, wider sidewalks, bike lanes, buffers between the street and sidewalk, shade trees, or benches?
Some other strategies that work well with sidewalks include Safe Routes to School initiatives, multi-use trails, greenbelt trails, and more school bus routes. Do you think any of these or other strategies would be helpful in Noble?
Thank you again for sharing! I look forward to hearing your responses!

we need to better connect our schools to the "downtown area". Is a little bit of a walk, but if it was safer, kids could walk to the library and other amenities in downtown.

This is a great idea. Thank you for sharing. A couple of months ago, the City was actually able to secure some grant funding to construct sidewalks along both sides of Main Street between Etowah Road and Downtown Noble with legs along both Pecan and Ash streets to connect to the library. This should open up opportunities for people to access Noble's Downtown via foot instead of having to rely solely on cars.
